Our Philosophy

The course that was first taught 25 years ago was born out of our experience that touch has a powerful (and empowering) healing effect and an understanding that the practitioner must have a good knowledge of strokes and the functioning of the body-mind.
Over the years we have developed an approach that works on 4 levels:

* The symptoms and problems as they present themselves on the surface
* The immediate underlying causes connected to the presenting symptoms
* The client’s ability to work with the presenting problems
* The client’s ability to become present at a deeper level with self and symptoms

We perceive that personal presence is the key to balancing energy and re-aligning body structures. When approached this way, treatments dynamically educate the body and the person, building strength both physically, emotionally and mentally – which enables change to take place.

Balancing The Practical With Sensitivity

This approach is as practical as it is sensitive. It optimises your ability to build a practice based on remedial work with chronic muscular problems as well as working with a person’s stress and need for connective realignment. The course is designed to give you the greatest practical base to help clients and build a practice.

Overview Of Learning Outcomes

The course combines traditional Swedish strokes with eastern techniques and incorporates the principles of stress release and energy rebalancing. You will be taught strategies of muscle release and rejuvenation as well how to prioritize and treat the whole‘picture’ that the client is presenting.

Theory is integrated with practical work and demonstrations. Information is presented with design, style and timing that makes it relevant and easy for you to take in. By completing this course, you will develop a deeper understanding of the body-mind interchange as well as practical knowledge and skill to address specific problems and conditions.

The course encourages open questioning and group review of key concepts and issues. Our teachers follow the teaching philosophy that: a good teacher can make any subject practical and understandable.
Course tutors will support you individually in areas of problem or conflict in learning. Notes will be provided that lay out the subject matter in coherent formats that clarifies the subject and what you need to know.

Practice

During class time you will have opportunity to ask questions about your practice clients. With each stroke you learn you will learn its correct use and contra indications to it. This will make you safe while working with your clients.
